Baywatch Reboot Stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Zac Efron {Plot and Release Date)

It has been 16 years since the hit TV series Baywatch ended and now fans of the show are about to leap for joy because it is making a comeback, not as a TV series but rather as a movie. Latinos Post reported that Baywatch is confirmed to return as a movie and those who have loved it could rejoice knowing that those beach scenes and action are going to be relived.

Comic Book published some spoilers about this movie and one of them is the fact that this project would be rated R for comedy. Another thing is that two popular actors were already confirmed to have signed for this movie and one of them is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson who would take the role of Mitch Buchannon, whose character was made popular by David Hasselhoff.

Zac Efron is the other actor who is said to be a part of the Baywatch revival. According to E Online, The Rock even posted on his Twitter the announcement of having Efron being part of this project. As for the character that he would portray, there is no update on the exact name he will be having on the film. But his role would be a drunk Olympic swimmer who found himself inebriated during the Beijing Olympics. He was so drunk that he even attempted to free some panda bears in the area. Efron's character would then decide to get his life straight and that's the reason he joined the team of Baywatch, to be one of the lifeguards.

Latinos Post continued with the report saying that The Rock and Efron's characters on the movie won't jive in the beginning and that The Rock would give Efron a hard time with his swimming performance. It is going to be interesting how this movie will turn out.

No release date yet was announced but the filming will start in 2016.
