Waze Google App Gets Redesigned

Millions of Americans are using smart phone applications to aid them in their everyday needs. Applications such as Facebook, Starbucks and Waze helps mobile users interact and transact multiple sessions with the touch of their finger when using their Android Phones and iPhones. Recently, Google has redesigned one of their applications - Waze - as found in their recent roll out. Waze is a navigation app that has the ability to alert users against local traffic and also indicate distance or time to the user's destination.

The previous version included these features as well, with icons that looked like cartoons with strong colors, making the navigation map looking cluttered and difficult to read for the user. With the newer version, Waze 4.0 shows a much more de-cluttered map with a better alert system for the driver. They also added a contact section so the driver can share directions and ETA. Waze 4.0 also allows users to sync the app to their calendars to alert them to future traffic conditions. Lastly, they also claimed to have improved on battery life.

According to Google, there are over 50 million active monthly Waze users. Its previous version was not of the best quality since the user interface needed much improvement. With the company's release, they introduced a user interface that has a much more cleaner interface with a faster update when it comes to local traffic reports.

Millions of drivers use Waze to direct them across and inter-state traffic. Because of Waze's ability to alert users to the latest traffic conditions, the 4.0 version is now being used widely by a large group of drivers. Traffic conditions being reported to drivers include accidents on the road, road hazards, re-routing of certain routes and if there is a traffic jam on the route being taken. This gives the user the ability to pause and think of an alternate route to their destination.

The newer version is now available in the iTunes Store. The Android version will follow soon.
