Jonny Greenwood, the guitarist of the English rock band Radiohead firmly established that the band is close to being done with their 9th album. Once the new Radiohead album is completed, the group also intends to tour in 2016.
Reportedly, Radiohead has been buried in a studio for most of September working on their upcoming album.
The specifics of Radiohead's new album are hard to come by, however, it's not overly surprising considering it's Radiohead. But the guitarist has said that one track that may show up on the new album is "Lift," which traces all the way back to 1996.
Jonny Greenwood gave an update about the upcoming album, "We have finished recording the new album, but we keep reevaluating the work we've done," "We hope that soon we will have exactly finish it and start to build plans for a concert tour next year."
Greenwood later cleared up his comments on his Twitter account, as the guitarist wrote, "What I actually said: lots has been recorded, and we're about to go through it all... to see if it's any good. And we HOPE to tour next year: no plans confirmed yet. Sorry for the over enthusiastic translator."
The forthcoming album of Radiohead will be the band's first album since The King of Limbs album was released in 2011 and also, as stated by Phil Selway (the band's drummer), it is the first Radiohead album to possibly include outside collaborators.
Outside Radiohead, working on the album is composer and innovative musician - Robert Ziegler. Ziegler already collaborated with Radiohead on The King of Limbs album and he has recently shared photos of the band in the studio - images that include a gigantic orchestra and the English musician best known as the vocalist and principal songwriter of the alternative rock band Thom Yorke, who is rocking a pretty legit man bun.
The album's release has not yet been revealed.
