On Wednesday, organizers announced that the 100th birthday of the American singer, actor and director - Frank Sinatra, will be celebrated with an all-star TV tribute featuring the likes of the American singer of traditional pop standards - Tony Bennett, Garth Brooks (American country music singer-songwriter), the 'Girl On Fire' singer - Alicia Keys and the 'All Of Me' hitmaker - John Legend.
Also, the lead vocalist of the pop rock band Maroon 5 - Adam Levine, the American singer and actress - Carrie Underwood and the American singer and actor - Usher, are among the artists lined up for the primetime special Sinatra 100 - An All-Star GRAMMY Concert, which will be taped on December 2 at Wynn Las Vegas' Encore Theatre.
The American recording artist Don Costa, along with Gordon Jenkins, Quincy Jones and the American arranger, composer, and orchestrator Nelson Riddle - will contribute arrangements for the one-off event, which will be broadcasted on December 6 on the CBS Television Network.
As stated by the organizers - The Recording Academy, AEG Ehrlich Ventures and CBS, the event will bring together the performances of Sinatra classics with remarkable archival footage narrated by Frank Sinatra himself. The All-Star GRAMMY Concert will be the only televised concert special celebrating the milestone of Frank Sinatra.
The president/CEO of The Recording Academy - Neil Portnow stated, "Frank Sinatra is a voice for all generations. The showmanship and artistry of Frank Sinatra have remained unmatched since he began performing professionally in the 1930s to his last recording 21 years ago," Neil Portnow added, "Today, Frank Sinatra continues to gain popularity for his classic sound and signature style. It's only fitting that we join the global celebration in honor of his 100th birthday."
Frank Sinatra was born on December 12, 1915 and the nine-time Grammy winner passed away in 1998 at the age of 82.
The event will be produced by AEG Ehrlich Ventures, LLC, while the American television producer and director - Ken Ehrlich, will serve as executive producer.
