Paramedic Bride Runs To The Rescue On Her Wedding Day

A paramedic bride from Clarksville, Tennessee was photographed responding to a car crash and gained huge attention on social media.

On October 3, Sarah Ray was about to go to her wedding reception when she received an emergency call that her father and grandparents got involved in a car crash few miles away from the church.

Just minutes after her wedding ceremony with husband Paul at Clarksville Grace Church of Nazarene, the 29-year-old paramedic rushed to the corner of 101st Adult Dentistry and Trenton road to rescue her family.

"Paul and I are both paramedics and a lot of our groomsmen and bridesmaids are also," she told ABC News. "We just knew they had been in a wreck and the car had been totalled. We didn't know any injuries at the time."

Her co-workers at Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services unit also rushed to the scene.

"I trusted my co-workers to know what they are doing," Sarah continued. "We were just there to check up on the situation. It doesn't matter if it's your wedding day or not."

Sarah's father and grandmother, who got hospitalized, suffered minor injuries while her grandfather was not harmed.

Her mother, Marcy Martin, who was also at the scene did not let the moment pass without taking a picture of her daughter both in a wedding dress and on the job.

Now, Sarah's photo had over 6,000 shares on Facebook with comments calling her a hero.

"I don't think anything I do is heroic," she told Buzz Feed. "First responders all over the world stop on a daily basis to do this kind of thing, whether or not it's family. It just so happens that this was my wedding day and there was a photo of it."

Sarah and Paul went on with their reception after.
