Zayn Malik Pauses Solo Career, Tries To Get One Direction's Songwriter On Board

While his former band One Direction is all set for their fast approaching hiatus, it seems like Zayn Malik is doing exactly the opposite.

Following his exit from the band last March, the 22-year old singer has not released any new single and is reportedly preparing things out on the process of shaping his career as a solo artist, just as exactly as he plans to do when he decided to quit his band of five years.

Reports say that part of his preparation is getting the talents he will need for the artistry and management, adding that Malik is interested in getting One Direction's songwriter, Jamie Scott.

"Zayn knows Jamie is a ticket to a hit and has been sending messages to him trying to get the songwriter on board. But Jamie feels that working with Zayn could cause problems because of his history with the band." a source said.

Scott on the other hand, who wrote for Malik's solo album 'My Hurricane' earlier this year, has not yet given his comments about the issue. Besides writing for the four-piece band, Scott also launches himself as the band's opening act on some tours and shows.

While there has been no confirmation about Scott pairing with Malik after the band's hiatus, reports added that Scott is allegedly worried working with Malik would only keep him away from more work with One Direction.

"When I sit down and write a song for myself, I only have one critic, and that's me. I'm very particular on what to do in terms of myself." he said.

He went on saying, "When you're working for an artist, whether it's One Direction or Christina Perri, these people very much have an artist's integrity and know what they want. You're there to write music that is going to work well for them."

Among the chart-topping songs that Scott wrote for the band include "You & I", "Midnight Memorie" and "Night Changes", he also co-wrote the band's post-Zayn Malik tracks "Drag Me Down" and "Infinity".
