Matt Damon Ben Affleck: Why Doesn’t Childhood Friend And ‘The Martian’ Star Want Jennifer Garner Reconciliation?

Nearly twenty years ago, longtime friends and collaborators Matt Damon and Ben Affleck became superstars after releasing "Good Will Hunting," a film they co-wrote and for which they won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, and they've been together through thick and thin - but that doesn't mean they always agree with the other's decisions.

In the latest rumors regarding Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, now that the latter is in the middle of a messy separation from Jennifer Garner, it's being said that the Jason Bourne actor may have been against Garner from the beginning - or at least isn't rooting for a reconciliation on the slightest.

"Matt believes Ben's marriage was in shambles way before the nanny," said an insider to Matt Damon and Ben Affleck's friendship to OK! Magazine, as rumors of Affleck and Garner trying to work on their marriage continue to grow: "There was too much anger there."

According to The Inquisitr, long before former nanny Christine Ouzounian came into the picture for the "Suicide Squad" actor, Matt Damon's Ben Affleck thoughts were that his marriage to Garner had been rotten for a while, and he basically couldn't stand her.

International Business Times reports that Damon thought that, if Garner just "loosened up a bit," things could have been different.

For years, it has been said that Damon and Garner don't get along, and that in fact the Golden Globe winner may have gotten along poorly with many of her husband's friends over the years.

Ever since Matt Damon and Ben Affleck rose to prominence, rumors regarding the two have been all over the place, including an ongoing one from the 90s saying that they were in fact a couple, though those have mostly ceded since the two started families, as these rumors often do; however, it's certain that the two stars are very close friends and have been for a number of years.

Currently, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are working together again, after it was revealed earlier last summer that the two would be producing a film based on the recent FIFA corruption scandal.
