Along with its journey to the top, Disney hits and cross $4 billion at the global box office. In celebration of that, the studio made numerous changes and additions on the release dates of different movies from them. The schedules were made to strengthen its live-action empire and setting the itinerary for Marvel Studios, Pixar and Disney Animation Studios in the course of 2020.
The studio has scheduled 14 new movies. Highlights include release dates for Cars 3 on June16, 2017 and The Incredibles 2 on June 21, 2019 both from Pixar. Pixar's Toy Story 4 is pushed a year from June 16, 2017 to June 15, 2018 to make room for the Cars threequel.
For the Marvel Studios universe, the immense news was made known by Marvel and Disney that Ant-Man and the Wasp will be moving ahead with their respective sequels and will open in theaters July 6, 2018, the date that was first reserved for Black Panther. Now, Black Panter will open earlier on Feb. 16, 2018. Captain Marvel will be moved from Nov. 2, 2018, to March 8 2019 two months before Avengers: Infinity - Part II. The ther three Marvels that have no titles yet will be dated in 2020.
Disney revealed that the Pixar film Coco is due for release on Nov.22, 2017, while Gigantic is set on March 6, 2018. Disney home studios of Maleficent and Cinderella will again hone it's expertise in the live-action fairy tale space and has set not less than four untitled films to be released on Dec. 22, 2017; Nov.2, 2018; March 29, 2019; and Nov.8, 2019.
It is already a common practice for studios to date a film without a title which is called "placeholder". Disney has set an untitled Disneytoon Studio movie that is set to hit theatres on April 12, 2019, as well as an untitled Pixar film for March 13, 2020 and another Pixar for June 19, 2020, also an untitled Disney Animation Studio on Nov. 25, 2020.
