American rapper and record producer - Marshall Bruce Mathers III, better known as Eminem, continued to talk about his fellow American rapper Tupac Amaru Shakur, also known by his stage names 2Pac and Makaveli, for the second installment of Paper magazine's Nowstalgia segment.
Eminem stated, "Tupac was taking things way further compared to a lot of rappers at the time - as far as giving a feeling to Tupac's words and music, Tupac was pushing it to the next level." A number of individuals say, 'You feel Pac,' and it's absolutely true."
As Eminem, one of hip-hop's greatest, recalled the first time he heard 2Pac and the massive impact it had on him, way before Eminem signed with Dr. Dre. where Eminem started to write songs when he was 18 or 19 years old.
Eminem, goes on with his expression of admiration for Tupac's very complicated understanding, not just of his own lyrics, but where to place his words in the context of a beat or a chord change, Eminem said, "to make them jump off track and make you feel what Tupac was saying." Where the ability of Tupac in music was especially important to Eminem as a budding MC.
The Detroit based said that, "Tupac covered such a broad point of view and there were so many different sides to him, but the best part about Tupac overall, was that he was a human being." Eminem also said, "Tupac would let you realize that. I used to be captivated with Tupac's interviews like, 'Yo, what he's saying is so true.' He would also be able to trump people who were interviewing him when they would hit him with hard questions - it was impossible to believe. Tupac was a superstar in every aspect of the word."
And the relationship of Eminem with the music of Tupac grew even more personal, when Afeni Shakur (Tupac's mother), granted Eminem with the authorization to produce the fifth posthumous album of Tupac - 'Loyal to the Game.'
