Nicole Kidman has been working in the showbiz industry for years. The 48-year-old actress has starred in many hit Hollywood films but her experience did not spare her from still feeling stage fright.
After taking a break from doing plays, Kidman has finally decided to go back onstage to perform in front of a live audience. The 'Before I Go to Sleep' actress is starring in the West End play 'Photograph 51' which is about a female scientist who took part in the discovery of the DNA.
The Oscar-winning actress admitted that despite her accomplishments in her chosen career, she still feels terrified in her new project.
"Well, I'm over here on this play and I'm terrified. Terrified and exhilarated because I've got to make this incredibly acerbic, prickly woman real and vulnerable," admitted Kidman.
The 'Photograph 51' is Nicole Kidman's newest play after being away from the stage for almost 20 years. No wonder the award-winning actress is feeling weird to be back again.
"It's a 95-minute play and I haven't done that for 17 years. It's a whole different ballgame," Kidman reasoned.
The 'Grace of Monaco' star shared some of her reasons for accepting the project. When she saw the actors she admire like Patricia Clarkson, Alessandro Nivola and Bradley Cooper in 'The Elephant Man', the actress got inspired and finally decided to come back to Broadway.
Watching the aforementioned famous Hollywood stars helped her convince herself to work on the play 'Photograph 51'. Seeing the finest actors perform made her emotional. Their performance deserves a standing ovation, the actress thought.
"I've come back to London to do this play, because I love the actors here. I feel very comfortable here," said Kidman.
The actress and film producer will be featured on the October issue of the 'Interview' magazine where she shared more of the things that terrifies her.
'Photograph 51' is still running in London and will still be available at Noel Coward Theatre until November 5.
