George Kay has been arrested on suspicions of attacking his wife, Kerry Katona and being armed with a Taser.
The 35 year old ex-rugby league player was held on Saturday evening after police learned that a woman has been assaulted. It is believed that the said woman was ex-Atomic Kitten star Kerry, who is the mother of Kay's one year old daughter.
The woman is said to be suffering from bruises on her "face and arms."
According to The Sun, it is believed that George may have been drinking earlier in the day and the couple had a squabble. Sources said that they heard raised voices and the cops were called more than once.
Sussex police spokesperson said, "On Saturday police were called to an address in Gorsedene Close, Crowborough, after a report that a woman had been assaulted."
The spokesperson added, "A 35-year-old man was arrested at the address on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm to a 35-year old woman, and of unlawful possession of a Taser." Reportedly, "the woman had sustained bruising to her face and arms."
Kay was later temporarily released on police bail until October 24.
The couple married in September last year in a ceremony in Gloucestershire. Then they moved to Sussex, claiming that their home was haunted.
Earlier this year another report came out that Kerry reportedly kicked her husband out of their house, but later reconciled to give their marriage another chance.
Kerry has two children with her ex-husband, Westlife star Brian McFadden and two more children with her former husband, taxi driver, Mark Croft.
Before the alleged incident, Kerry and her husband George packed on some major PDA at National Reality TV Awards, as per Mirror. The couple reportedly passionately kissed in front of so many people during the event. They seemed oblivious to everyone else as they indulged in the sweet moment for all to see.
