Simon Cowell Apologizes To Contestants After Swearing On The X-Factor U.K: 'It's Not Big & It's Not Clever'

It seems like his choice of words are sometimes not on point.

Talent mentor, Simon Cowell, who dragged his own name down on television for being too hard on throwing his criticisms on American Idol, decided to apologize to the 'X-Factor' U.K contenders after a twist on the segment apparently pushed him to cuss while on-air on television.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Cowell began to heat up after the fans were given the control to vote as to who would be mentoring each category, which didn't turn out to be what he actually expected.

After the votings, Rita Ora got the girls, Nick Grimshaw received the boys, Cheryl-Fernandez Versini will be mentoring the groups and Cowell has been assigned to the elders.

While this may seem fair enough for the rest of the judges, it didn't sit well with Cowell following his declaration about his preference would be the girls, the groups, the boys and the 'overs'.

"For f--k sake," he said before the hosts. "Are you winding me up? Are you sure this is the right name in there? Can I have a look?"

What made Cowell's reaction more worse was that all the elders were actually really excited to have Cowell as their mentor and his reaction got them a bit worried. In fact, one of the singers said "That's really discouraging" while the other one dropped his jaw.

However, not too long after the episode, Cowell sent his apology on Twitter about his word choice.

"Sorry for swearing on the show tonight. It's not big and it's not clever. Yes, I did apologize to my contestants. Wish Karen Mav had kept a seat." he wrote.

Though Cowell has been known for being way too honest and upfront as a judge, it wouldn't change the fact that he mentored two of the world's biggest bands of today, the One Direction and Fifth Harmony.
