Nina Dobrev Lands First Movie Gig After Vampire Diaries

After leaving the hit TV series that has made a lot of teens go wild , Nina Dobrev (who played Elena) just landed a new gig and this time she's hitting the big screen.

IB Times reported that Dobrev is about to star in a movie called "Arrivals," which is a story about coming of age and is set to film in South Africa by the end of this year.

According to Deadline, the movie will revolve around the character of Calvin (played by Asa Butterfield), who dropped out of college and worked as a baggage claim associate in the city of Cape Town. He will then find himself in love with Izzy (played by Dobrev), who is an American flight attendant.

Another actor from TV would also be a part of this film and it is none other than Maisie Williams (from Game of Thrones and Doctor Who). She will be playing the role of Skye, who is an adventurous teenage girl that asks Calvin to tag along with her so that he can help in finishing her bucket list.

This is not the first feature film that Dobrev can brag about in her resume because she was also a part of 'Perks of Being a Wallflower," and another one called "Final Girl." This time, she won't have issues with conflicting schedules doing Vampire Diaries and making movies since her character Elena was killed in the season 6 finale of the said TV series.

Dobrev already hinted to People Magazine even back then that her project in Vampire Diaries was not the last thing she'll ever do. "I had a very scheduled, regimented life," the actress told People in May after saying goodbye to Vampire Diaries. She continued saying, "And I've just been taking the whole month to not plan anything and see where life takes me and chill for a second before getting back into it and getting superfocused again."
