Selena Gomez took some heat from the haters who poked fun at her weight and body-shamed her earlier this year. The 23-year-old pop star proved that negative name-calling won't hurt her anymore as she assumed control on the November cover of Flare magazine.
Selena posed in a variety of scintillating outfits from a black leather corset and a clingy Versace mini-dress with sheer detail among others.
There was a time not so long ago, however, when she was getting a lot of hate about her body and criticism for appearing to gain weight.
"I was really bummed when I found out all that stuff was going on," Selena told Flare, adding that she was in Mexico at the time. "And that's when I was like, 'I'm so tired of feeling like I'm being pulled down by something.'"
Instead of falling to pieces, Selena used it as inspiration for her new album Revival.
Selena Gomez is single and ready to mingle. The singer is opening up about her love life, which she admits has had its ups and downs since breaking up with ex boyfriend, Justin Bieber, nearly a year ago. However, just because she’s not into Tinder, doesn’t mean Selena isn’t open to whatever comes her way
I would never go on Tinder!” Selena said in an interview with Flare. “I think it would scare me. I go on dates. It’s not that difficult—I’m a nice young lady [laughs] — but that’s not my focus. I’m really stoked about being with myself right now.”
Though Selena is in a good place now, she acknowledges that it has been tumultuous. “I’ve felt so much in the past two years, from being super in love and then dealing with things to getting older and all these beautiful experiences that were complicated and exciting,” she said.
The issue goes on sale at newsstands on October 12.
