'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Scandal' creator Shonda Rhimes opened up about her dramatic weight loss transformation. At a recent ABC red carpet event, she revealed how she managed to drop off more than 100 pounds of her weight.
The 45 year old producer said motivation and practicing portion control helped her shed off her unwanted pounds. She said the combination of the two allowed her to shed off roughly 177 pounds.
"I just decided I was gonna get it together and get healthy," she told Extra. She confessed that the thought of not being around her kids was enough to keep her motivated. "I have some little kids and I want to be around for them," she said.
The transition was a little bit hard though, she confessed that she had a hard time at first but eventually learned to get on with it. She said her diet secret was all about exercise and practicing portion control, she just reduced the portions of the food she was already eating.
"I try to make it much less and smaller portions, but you change what your palate wants. I'm suddenly craving fish and salad," she said.
The successful television producer is a mother of three daughters. Back in 2002, she adopted her daughter Harper, in 2012 her daughter Emerson and in 2013 she welcomed her third daughter Beckett via gestational surrogate, as per Daily Mail.
Her award winning works on ABC, include 'Grey's Anatomy,' 'Scandal' and 'How to Get Away With Murder.'
During the red carpet event, Rhimes as well as the stars of 'Grey's Anatomy', 'Scandal,' and 'How To Get Away With Murder' shared their favorite twists of the show, including the jaw dropping death scenes.
