Google's 'Pixel C' Gives Rivals a Run for their Money

When google first revealed there newest technology, the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and new Chromecast and Chromecast Audio, one would have thought that they were going to stop there. But no, Google is releasing a new, and their first wholly Google-made tablet, the Google Pixel C, an Android-based tablet with a detachable keyboard. This tablet vies for the top slot as the best tablet out in the market, together with Apple's iPad Pro and Surface Pro 3.

Pixel C boasts 2,560 x 1,800 resolution, displayed in a 10.2 inch screen. The Google Pixel C runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and has a beefy NVIDIA X1 quad-core processor, Maxwell GPU and 3GB of RAM. The price of the tablet starts at $499 for a 42GB and $599 for a 64GB.

The sound system in the Pixel C is also an upgrade from the older tablet models. It has stereo speakers on each side of the screen, with four microphones on the tablet itself. Voice commands and voice search from across the room will be easier due to the numerous microphones on the Pixel C.

The tablet also uses the new reversible USB Type-C charger, which the newest Nexus phones also use. The keyboard is sold separately from the Pixel C, and is sold at a price of $149. It can tilt from 100-degrees to 135 degrees and has a 19mm key travel.

The new Pixel C marks a departure from the partnership of Google with Nexus, wherein they have made numerous tablets together. Nexus itself, has created numerous tablets, with their first tablet, the Nexus 7, launched back in 2012 and was made by ASUS. While Google partnered last year with HTC to produce the Nexus 9 tablet, but the tablets suffered many manufacturing defects and overheating issues. The Pixel C will be Googles first in-house made tablet.
