Actress Valerie Harper is not letting brain cancer keep her from working.
The UP cable channel announced on Thursday, that the actress will be filming a TV movie in Canada and production is set to begin this week. The movie titled "The Town That Came A-Courtin'," is expected to air in January.
"When I learned that the remarkable Valerie Harper was interested in working, I was so excited, because that meant she was doing well," said Barbara Fisher, programming chief at UP. "We are thrilled to have this iconic talent in our film and awed by her determination to live each day to the fullest. She is truly an inspiration."
During an interview with the "Today" show in March, the 73-year-old actress said doctors gave her a week, three months or years to live.
"The thing I have is, very rare and it's serious and it's incurable - so far," she said. "So I'm holding on to the 'so far.'"
Harper said she is remaining "hopeful" and has the intention to "live each moment fully." she added, "I'm not dying until I do."
According to the Huffington Post the movie is being described as an uplifting romance. The movie will also star Lauren Holly, Cameron Bancroft, and Lucie Guest. Harper plays the role of a bed and breakfast owner who is trying to help form a romance between a widowed mayor and a successful author.
The actress is best for staring in the comedy series, "Ronda" in the 1970s.
