Jim Carrey broke his silence and talked to Entertainment Tonight, saying that he was "shocked" to learn the news. Calling his former girlfriend "sweet Cathriona," 53-year-old Jim Carrey adds that he is "deeply saddened" of the recent occurrence.
"She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled," said Jim Carrey in a statement, which was shared via his publicist Marleah Leslie.
He added, "My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt."

Prior to her death, Cathriona White had been posting some cryptic messages on her social media accounts, which many would have believed to be an emotional post, could have possibly been a cry for help.
Not even a week ago, Cathriona White posted a photo of a bouquet of flowers in a vase, atop a coffee table. Her caption read:

Not only that, but a couple of weeks ago, an Instagram snap with the quote: "I sometimes smile and act like nothing is wrong. It's called dealing with shit and staying strong," was probably a message she wanted to send to herself to keep holding on in spite of her troubles.
