Former New England Patriot tight end Aaron Hernandez was back in court on Wednesday.
Hernandez is being charged with the June 17, death of 27-year-old Boston semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd. Lloyd's body was found in an industrial park in North Attleborough near Hernandez's home. Hernandez has pleaded not guilty and is being held without bail.
Before his death, Odin reportedly sent a series of text to his sister, informing her that he was with Hernandez. The last text read, "NFL, just so you know," according to the Courant.com.
In addition to Wednesday's hearing, The Boston Globe reported prosecutors continue to look at Hernandez's involvement in a double homicide in Boston a year ago.
"The case against Hernandez appears to be strengthening," an official told the Globe.
According to sources, CBS Boston reported that Lloyd, of Dorchester, Mass., may have been executed because he had information about Hernandez involvement in the double-homicide.
Safiro Furtaod, 28 and Daniel Abreu 29, were gunned down on July 15, 2012 as they sat at a traffic light in Boston's South End, according to the New York Daily News. A silver SUV with Rhode Island plates was reportedly seen speeding away from the crime scene. No arrests were made.
Sources told MyFox Boston that Hernandez and the two men were in the same night club the night of the shooting. In the state of Massachusetts, anyone charged with murder must be indicated by a grand jury before they can proceed to trial.
A search warrant from the investigation into Lloyd's death was used to search Hernandez's uncle's home, an apartment and a rental car police said was used by Hernandez the day of the shooting, according to ESPN.
The items seized from the home last month included a plastic gun box and tow boxes of .38-caliber ammunition.
