Over the past few months, Gigi Hadid's Instagram has shown the young star's rising career as one of the most in-demand models in recent times, and after being one of the "rookies" of 2014's Sports Illustrated annual swimsuit issue, Kendall Jenner's best friend isn't about to take your petty online comments.
Unlike most top models, Gigi Hadid's Instagram shows that the 20 year-old fashion star, who was part of the all-star cast of Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" video earlier this year, has an athletic body instead of the standard thin frame most women in the industry flaunt, and that obviously means she gets a lot of hate online - but Joe Jonas' girlfriend is not taking it anymore.
According to E! Online, the model took to Gigi Hadid's Instagram to post a long statement about the people attempting to bring her down on social media - and she was refreshingly eloquent and on point.
On the well-explained message on Gigi Hadid's Instagram, the Vogue cover girl explained that she represented a different and non-traditional side of the industry, as her body shape wasn't the same as many people in the fashion world, but it didn't mean she wasn't grateful for the body she had because it was her time to shine now that the industry's changing.
"Yes, I have boobs, I have abs, I have a butt, I have thighs, but I'm not asking for special treatment," wrote the model on Gigi Hadid's Instagram, fresh off engagements on New York and Milan Fashion Week, The Daily Mail reports.
According to Time Magazine, this is hardly the first time Hadid speaks against trolls and body shamers, as she's made it clear that, considering her background as an athlete (she was captain of her high school's varsity volleyball team as well as a competitive horseback rider), she has no desire to be "skinny" now that she's in the fashion industry.
