Pedro Pascal may have appeared in several films and TV shows, but his breakout role was undoubtedly as the vengeful warrior prince Oberyn Martell in the fourth season of 'Game of Thrones.'
His portrayal of the bisexual noble eventually earned the 40-year-old Chilean actor a nomination for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. After 'Game of Thrones,' Pascal landed a coveted role in the Netflix crime drama 'Narcos,' where he plays Javier Peña, a DEA agent who also likes women a little too much.
So what do Oberyn Martell and Javier Peña have in common other than the love of women and the actor who plays them? That would be an iconic mustache that Pedro Pascal confirms he's kept for quite some time now.
"I did keep it," Pascal admitted to Details. "I went straight into filming another project where it was needed after the first season of 'Narcos.' And then right after this project ends, we're going into the second season. So I have lived an entire year with this mustache."
Pedro Pascal's mustache in 'Narcos' may have also started a new facial hair trend, although the actor isn't so sure about that.
"I have a feeling that 'Narcos' is almost riding a wave of mustache popularity," he said. "I've been seeing a lot of them, but I don't know which came first: The 'Narcos' mustache or, like, the current hipster mustache [trend]."
Despite being one of the sexiest actors to appear in 'Game of Thrones,' Pedro Pascal wants to clarify all those talks about his "nude scenes" in the TV series.
"I actually wasn't nude on Game of Thrones. It's just something that I got away with. I don't know how," Pascal said. "I am perceived as someone who was naked on 'Game of Thrones' but, really, I was in a bed full of naked people. I had my pants on and got to throw a sash over my shoulder once the orgy was over. I was more nude in 'Narcos' and I, uh, protected myself with a blanket that we found on set."
'Narcos' has been renewed for a second season and is expected to return to Netflix in 2016.
