Paula Abdul is heading to "So You Think You Can Dance," on Tuesday
FOX announced the superstar's long-awaited debut as a guest judge after 10 seasons of the show.
Executive producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe teased "So You Think You Can Dance" fans on Monday by tweeting about the mystery guest before FOX made the announcement.
"I can hold back no longer. One of our guest judges this week has the initials. P.A.," Lythgoe tweeted.
Lythgoe later tweeted "Only kidding, it's not the great singer/composer Paul Anak. it's the girl I've waited ten season for @PaulaAbdul is joining us on #SYTYCD."
Before Abdul was a singer and a judge on the singing competition show "American Idol", she broke out as a Los Angles Lakers cheerleader and later a choreographer for superstars like Janet Jackson.
Abdul was a judge on "American Idol" for nine seasons with original judges Randy Jackson Simon Cowell.
"With sadness in my hear, I've decided not to return to FOX singing contest," Abdul tweeted in August 2009. "I'll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being apart of a show that I helped from day 1 become an international phenomenon."
Reports during the time claimed Abdul and Lythgoe were in arranging for Abdul to join the popular dance completion series as a judge.
The singer/dancer later created her own dance show, "Live to Dance," which aired on CBS in 2011. Abdul served as a guest judge on the All-Star edition of "Dancing with Stars." Abdul later became a judge on "X-Factor" with former Idol partner Cowell, but according to reports she was let go after one season.
As a judge she will help critique the Top 18 finalist, a group that includes Jasmine Mason, Alan Bersten and Mariah Spears. Fox Sports personality Erin Andrews will also guest-judge the episode.
