Golden Corral Dumpster: Employee Posts Video of Raw Food Stored Next to Outdoor Garbage

Golden Corral is reportedly undergoing investigation after an employee uploaded a video showing dozens of pounds of raw meat left outside near a dumpster in Port Orange, Fla.

According to the Huffington Post, employee Brandon Huber posted a video of what appeared to be raw hamburger patties, raw baby back ribs, pot roast meat, chicken, bacon slices, a green bean casserole and a large pan full of gravy -- all sitting next to an outdoor dumpster.

The video also showed black flies surrounding some of the meat. In the video, Huber explains the restaurant was hiding the food during a health inspection.

"We're currently undergoing inspection," Huber said in the video. "Apparently, what my company like to do to get ready for inspection is put their foods by the dumpster... To me, this is disgusting. I've been working here for a long time. And I don't thing this is right."

In the video Huber expresses his disgust for the restaurant's tactic and said as an employee he does not eat their food. He also he's afraid to know how other Golden Corral's handle their food.

"I'm sacred of employment. I don't know who to tell," he said. "But I don't want to cook this food, I don't feel safe with it. My management is going to wheel it back into the cooler after the inspection, like nothing ever happened."

Golden Corral took to Facebook to respond to the viral video.

"In regards to the video that is currently being circulate by an employee of Golden Corral of an isolated incident of improper food handling at out Port Orange, Florida location please note:

1. The food in the video was never served to a single customer.

2. All of the food was thrown away immediately.

3. The employee in the video participated in disposing of the food.

4. The employee in the video, through this father, offered to sell the video

5. The manager at the restaurant was terminated."

According to the Huffington Post, Golden Corral has reportedly fired the manager of the restaurant were the stomach-churning video was filmed. Eric Holm, who owns the Golden Corral where the video was filmed, told the Post that the manager was fired for "not following proper food-handling produces."

In a statement forwarded to the Huffington Post Holm said the food shown in the video was not served to customers.

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service, meat that is stored at temperatures warmer than 40 degrees Fahrenheit for two hours or more can carry bacteria and cause food borne illnesses. Bacteria growth can double every 20 minutest hat food is left at room temperature.
