Cindy Crawford Releases A Book "Becoming" To Immortalize Her Glorious Modelling Years

Cindy Crawford, the iconic 90s supermodel, will turn 50 next year, and to commemorate her glorious years in the industry, she is set to release a book titled "Becoming."

In her book, she opened up about the reality of her life as an aging supermodel, "Having been a model now for more than 30 years and dependent on my looks for my work, seeing those changes might even be a little bit harder for me," the 49-year-old model says in her interview with the Daily Mail. "At times the pressure to live up to the fashion industry's expectations feels overwhelming."

Inquisitr reports that after the unflattering photo of Cindy was leaked on the internet, she felt conflicted about speaking out about it because so many people saw it as positive affirmation of "real" beauty.

"I felt blindsided," Crawford told Elle Canada in an interview. "I was very conflicted, to be honest. It put me in a tough spot: I couldn't come out against it because I'm rejecting all these people who felt good about it, but I also didn't embrace it because it wasn't real - and even if it were real, I wouldn't have wanted it out there," she honestly said.

John Russo, the celebrity photographer claims that the leaked photo was from a 2013 Marie Claire cover shoot and it was fake. "It has been falsely claimed that this photograph represents an un-retouched image of Cindy Crawford," he said in a statement to ABC News.

With her book, Crawford wanted to inspire aspiring models since she left a colorful legacy in the fashion industry and honor the girl who once was her. "I want to honor and acknowledge the girl I once was while embracing the woman I am today, and I even look forward to the wise woman I hope I will become in future decades," Cindy says in an excerpt from her book.

Becoming, is set to be released on September 29. It is a collection of Crawford's 150 images from her over-25-year career, as well as some never-before-seen photographs from her personal archive, alongside stories about her professional and personal evolution.
