For two decades, actress and singer Tisha Campbell-Martin (known for Fresh Prince of Bel Air, My Wife and Kids and Dr. Ken) has been on hiatus in releasing music. But today, she finally released something that is moving and relevant in this generation, it's her new single called 'Steel Here.'
Entertainment Weekly featured the artist's new work, as she revealed to the public her dark past of being sexually abused at the early age of 3. The singer/actress explained some of the scenes on the video through her Twitter and how it represents "a purging of anger, grudge, pain, low self esteem, self-deprecation or any negative emotion." She also said that she even received a letter of apology from her rapist. In the video, that letter was written on her body.
Hollywood Life also thought it was brave of her to come out in public about what happened to her during her childhood years and it seems like the singer is quite on a mission here to send some important message to everyone.
In the video, the people will be able to see the trauma and all the emotions she had to put up with in her life. The 47-year-old artist intends to reveal her feelings and traumatic experience dealing with rape as a young girl.
The former Martin sitcom actress said, "I'm still resilient I'm always gonna be here because I'm supposed to be here. I'm owning my existence. It's a system of survival because I'm my only rival. Yes, I'm on a mission (put your seat belt on). I know I'm on assignment. The stars are in alignment. I'm ready for this!"
CNN got a hold of this new release that this brave artist just came out with and everybody seems to like to message it was trying to put out there. Being brave and resilient.
