Instagram has just announced that they already reached 400 million users worldwide. Just nine months ago, the Facebook-owned social network revealed that they have 300 million users on board.
Through a blog post on the Instagram's own site, the mobile photo-sharing, video-sharing and social networking service stated that their five-year-old company is constantly growing through the years, and that 75 percent of the users are coming outside the U.S.
"Our community has evolved to be even more global, with more than 75 percent living outside of the US. To all the new Instagrammers: welcome! Among the last 100 million to join, more than half live in Europe and Asia. The countries that added the most Instagrammers include Brazil, Japan and Indonesia," Instagram wrote.
During the announcement, the networking site highlighted some of notable individuals all over the world that were using their service. Some of them include David Beckham from UK, Raffi and Nagita from Indonesia, Toni Kroos of Germany and T.O.P of South Korea.
Furthermore, Instagram also revealed that there were 80 million accounts that are enjoying a 3.5 billion total likes on a daily basis. On the other hand, it is estimated that 40 billion total photos have been shared on the site.
Aside from the 400 million users, Instagram also gained some success in another area lately. Two months ago, NASA decided to collaborate with the networking site to debut its first ever surface image of Pluto. Aside from that, all-new features were also released by the online networking site like the support for landscape and portrait formats, and its new search and explore function.
As of the moment, Instagram is now considered bigger than Twitter. Twitter only has a total of only 316 million active users. The networking site known for its "tweets" is currently struggling in looking for a permanent CEO.
