Ryan Reynolds is loving the new chapter of his life - fatherhood. The Canadian actor is not even shy to admit that he has personally tried wiping his daughter's ass and is experiencing sleepless nights for her baby girl.
Ryan Reynolds and wife Blake Lively welcomed their first daughter they named James nine months ago. Being a first time father, Reynolds is still overwhelmed by the joy of finally having a child of his own.
The 'Green Lantern' star admitted that he has not escaped diaper duties. In fact, the actor said that he has no problem about sacrificing his personal comfort for the sake of his baby James.
"I have no problem waking up five times in the middle of the night and changing diapers, and as exhausted as you get, I have this stupid grin on my face all the time," the actor said.
The 38-year-old actor will be featured in the October issue of GQ magazine and he has exposed his wonderful experiences with his daughter. The 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' star is even wondering about his endless supply of patience which he finds weird.
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively agreed not to hire a nanny yet which left them with loads of baby tasks. Despite the sleepless nights, the actor is still enjoying the experience.
"[It's] not because I have a nanny or something like that. It's just us right now, and I love it," says Reynolds.
During the interview at his home for the GQ magazine, the actor kept holding his baby monitor in his hands which shows how caring as father he is. The coming of his daughter into his life gave him many realizations including developing great respect for his parents.
"Once you have a kid, you just think, like, 'I can't believe that another person did all this s- for me that I'm doing for this person right now!' Like, that somebody woke up in the middle of the night this many times just to wipe my ass," the actor says.
On Twitter, Ryan Reynolds expressed his happiness being with his daughter.
Nothing better than spending an entire morning staring into my baby daughter's eyes, whispering, "I can't do this".
