New Twist Over Katy Perry And Taylor Swift Feud

The media always finds it interesting to create a conflict between two powerful women, pitting them against each other. The latest on the list is Katy Perry and Taylor Swift. But this time, the media added the Barbadian singer, fashion designer and songwriter - Rihanna into the mix, just to add up some spice to it.

The discord came about when the British music journalism magazine NME reported that Rihanna would not join the American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift on stage.

A source said that when Rihanna was in discussion with NME for the cover feature of the all-new free magazine, distributed in more than 500 locations on Friday, September 18, the singer was supposed to have stated that she doesn't see herself appearing with Taylor Swift.

According to NME, "Rihanna does not see herself joining the list of people to appear with Swift.' Rihanna further stated, "I don't think I would. I just don't think it makes sense."

Fox News on the other hand claimed that, since the Teenage Dream album of Katy Perry tied Michael Jackson's Bad for having five No.1 singles, Taylor wants to beat Perry by obtaining seven No.1 hits. However, Taylor Swift's latest single, "Wildest Dreams," only moves up this week from No. 15 to No. 12 on Billboard's Hot 100 - that's a long way for Swift to hit a no.1 spot.

Nonetheless, the previous singles by Taylor Swift like Bad Blood, Blank Space, and Shake It Off has hit No. 1, but still way too far from defeating Katy Perry and the king of pop - Michael Jackson's record.

On the other hand, Katy Perry and John Mayer appeared to greatly enjoy each other's company at the wedding of actress Allison Williams on Saturday. And a source had said that Perry and John Mayer are "definitely back together."

The source stated that, "John and Katy looked joyful," adding, "The couple held hands and sat next to each other during the wedding ceremony."
