'Megan Fox' Will be the Temporary "New Girl" During Deschanel's Maternity Leave

Reports are out about Megan Fox being the "NEW GIRL" in Fox's famous TV series after Zooey Deschanel takes her maternity leave following the birth of her first born child last month. According to Entertainment Weekly, Megan Fox has signed on for a starring role on the Fox series "New Girl" for its fifth season next year.

The Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle actress will appear in the 6th episode onwards. The sixth season is scheduled to premiere January of next year. Megan Fox will be playing Raegan, a pharmaceutical sales representative that moves into Jess's loft spot while Jess, Deschanel's character, is away on jury duty. Fox's character is described as a "gorgeous, straight-shooting pharmaceutical sales rep who comes to town on business and shakes things up in the loft."

"It's insane to me that such a gorgeous person can be so funny, but I guess we just all have to accept it," said executive producer Liz Meriwether. "I've been a fan of her comedic skills since This is 40, and I'm so excited to have her on the show. We had Megan in mind when we wrote this part - she's the perfect person to come in and shake these guys up."

For Fox, this will be her first major TV role in over a decade. She was seen last seen in ABC's Hope and Faith (2004-2006). She was also said to have recurring roles in Ocean Avenue (2002-2003) and The Help (2004) according to INQUISITR.

After making a big name for herself with her breakout role in Transformers, Fox landed another blockbuster hit, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle last 2014. Fox accepted the New Girl stint in addition to her role in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle sequel in 2016. She also signed up for Zeroville which she will work along with James Franco, Seth Rogen and Will Farrell.
