"I knew Veronica Mars fans were cool, but I had no idea they could rally with such power. They are unstoppable - just like Veronica. I will have a permanent blush on my face, feeling so lucky to be associated with this entire thing," said Bell
According to Entertainment Weekly, the goal was to raise $2 million in a month. The entertainment website also stated that Warner Bros Digital Distribution has agreed to put the movie into production and finance the marketing, promotions and distributions. It will film this summer and be released in early 2014.
Veronica Mars ran from 2004-2007. The lead character, Veronica Mars(Kristen Bell) was a high school girl that solved crimes in the town of Neptune. Mars is the type of character both males and females can relate to. She is intelligent, strong willed but edgy. For example, there is a scene in one the Veronica Mars episodes where she tells her father she has something to "admit", she ends up telling him she loves unicorns. In another episode, Veronica takes her car to get washed and the employee says to another employee "I get to wash some spoiled rich girls graduation gift from daddy" Veronica over heard it and said, "I am not spoiled and technically it wasn't for my graduation."
Veronica Mars was a charming character that spent a majority of her time, solving crimes. She was a teenage detective often outsmarting adults. The film will incorporate murder, mystery and a high school reunion, Entertainment Weekly reported. Kristen Bell will reprise her role as Veronica Mars; of course she will be an adult now. Fans can expect a high school reunion incorporated into the storyline. Veronica Mars could have aged into an adult detective that continues to solve crimes in Neptune.
