Over the years, cupcakes have become a consumer favorite. They are a smaller version to a regular sized cake. Cupcakes can be simple with vanilla or chocolate flavored icing or they can be garnished with sprinkles and intense designs. Cupcake Craze, a well-known shop in New York stated that television shows such as Cupcake Wars has increased the company's sales. "The craze is definitely helping business. People love cupcakes. You give someone a cupcake and they smile", said Kevin Hughes, the owner.
Cupcake Craze owner recently opened up a new location in Destiny, New York. The new location came after Hughes achieved 5 years of success at his original location in Oneida, reported CNYcentral.com. Cupcake Craze is a unique shop because the company allows consumers to customize their own cupcakes. The price starts at $2.25; they choose a cupcake flavor, than pick a frosting. If customers want any additional toppings or fillings, the cost is .50 cents each. Kevin Hughes hopes his business will eventually expand into New York City however he wants it to remain a mom and pop shop.
