Sean Bean Confirms Ned Stark Is Not Jon Snow's Father! Will The Dead Stark Return In 'Game Of Thrones' Season 6?

It is impossible to get an actor in 'Game of Thrones' to share some secrets about the truth behind one of the show's most beloved characters. Many have tried and failed to ask if Jon Snow will return in Season Six, but anyone who needs confirmation about his true lineage should just go straight to Ned Stark.

Sean Bean, who played the former Warden of the North in 'Game of Thrones' Season One, doesn't mince words when he talks about returning to the show. The 'Lord of the Rings' star has previously admitted that he wants Eddard Stark to make a comeback because he has "unfinished business that needs to be resolved there."

Why does the fallen Stark need to return? Sean Bean is also the first 'Game of Thrones' star to openly admit that Jon Snow is not Ned Stark's son.

"I'm obviously not Jon Snow's dad," Bean told Vulture last year. "And you need that to be revealed at some point, don't you?"

It looks like Sean Bean is the only 'Game of Thrones' star who believes in the R+L=J theory, which claims that Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark are Jon Snow's true parents. Since there are current speculations that a flashback scene will be filmed featuring Rhaegar and Lyanna's temporary safehouse, the Tower of Joy, Bean happily reconfirmed what he refuses to stop saying.

"He's not my child. He isn't," he said of Jon Snow. "That's what I suspected all along."

Sean Bean also addressed that Jon Snow may not be happy to hear the news. However, he did point out that it would be a chance for actor Kit Harington to show more of his acting skills.

"I think that's probably an interesting journey for Jon Snow as a character and for [Kit Harington] as the actor," Bean said. "He's been very fortunate in being one of the characters that had a very meaty, substantial, very complex story to be able to discover for himself. He's been lucky to survive!"

Will Ned Stark return to tell Jon Snow the truth about his parents? Find out when 'Game of Thrones' Season Six premieres on HBO next year.
