Last month, Wendy's released their new logo. The fast food company also updated their restaurant employee's uniforms. The uniforms are modernized.
The new logo appears crisp, clean and simple. Customers will still see the young redheaded girl that has represented the fast food chain for over four decades. "Wendy" sits smiling in the middle of a white background; beneath her reads "Wendy's" in a bright red bold font. The fast food chain is now offering a "Right Price Right Size Menu". The new menu consists of items ranging from .99 cents to $1.99. It has food items such as 6 -Piece Chicken Nuggets, JBC (Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger), Double Stack, Jr. Cheeseburger, Grilled Chicken Go Wrap, Jr. Cheeseburger Deluxe and Crispy Chicken Sandwich.
The well known fast food restaurant will be updating some of their restaurants with flat screen television sets, lounge seats and add Wi-Fi to more restaurants. Some people believe that updating the logo along with some of their restaurants will attract a younger demographic. High School and college students often dine out and bring their laptops. If a restaurant does not offer Wi-Fi, they might lose out on attracting younger consumers. Younger consumers especially teenagers have a significant amount of spending money. Most of them do not pay rent; they do not have large expenses. Many of them have after school jobs.
It is important for companies to update their logos every now and then to keep it modern. "A simpler logo makes their sign appear less cluttered. It is also more appealing to the eye", Allen Adamson, Managing Director, at Landor Associates said.
The new logo has modernized the fast food restaurant however it hasn't lost its "Old Fashioned" appeal.
According to Wendy's website, "When Dave Thomas opened up the first Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers restaurant, he created something new and different-high quality food made with the freshest ingredients, served the way the customer wants it."
The new logo and menu seems to be increasing their business The Wendy's Company NASDAQ: WEN stock is up 0.04 cents. The fast food chain has been giving consumers quality food since 1969. The logo was updated; the values remain the same.
