Nicholas Hoult 2015: Playing Author J.D. Salinger In Biopic, Will Jennifer Lawrence’s ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Ex Get Oscar?

Although the 25 year-old actor has been in the spotlight for most of his life, even starring with Toni Collette, Hugh Grant and Rachel Weisz in "About A Boy" when he was a preteen, it wasn't arguably until Nicholas Hoult's 2015 that his fame truly exploded on his own.

Prior to Nicholas Hoult's 2015, he was one of the many cast members of "X-Men" and noted mostly for being the boyfriend of Academy Award-winning actress and America's sweetheart Jennifer Lawrence - but after "Mad Max: Fury Road" and his other collab with Charlize Theron, "Dark Places," the actor is finally making a name for himself on talent alone.

According to Deadline, Nicholas Hoult's 2015 continues to be filled with great news, as the British actor has landed a new and very juicy role: he'll be playing Jerome David Salinger, known for his initials J.D., the famously reclusive author of coming of age classic "Catcher in the Rye."

Adweek reports that the film now including Nicholas Hoult's 2015 talents will be called "Rebel in the Rye," in reference to the author's most famous work, and it will tell the story of how the book about Holden Caulfield was conceived and Salinger's rocky early life, including his experience on the front in World War II at a young age.

"The story will explore his rebellious youth, his experiences on the bloody front lines of World War II, enduring great love and terrible loss, a life of rejection to the pages of the New Yorker and his writer's block - which led to a spiritual awakening," writes Variety about the upcoming Nicholas Hoult 2015 role.

In all, this has been a very busy year for the star, with no less than five films coming out this year and the third installment of his mutant saga, "X-Men: Apocalypse," due out next year.

Another great challenge is coming for Nicholas Hoult's 2015 - and who knows, considering how critically acclaimed biopics are (specially when they're about beloved writers), he could catch up with ex Lawrence on the Oscar department!
