Bill Murray Explains Why He Agreed to Appear in the Next Ghostbusters Film

The fans of the Ghostbusters franchise showed great joy when the American actor and comedian Bill Murray revealed that he will make a cameo in the upcoming reboot of director Paul Feig.

While the Emmy Award winner Murray was in East Hampton, N.Y. over the weekend, for the  screening of his new film, Rock the Kasbah, he shared the relevant facts of his role for the third sequel of the Ghostbusters and what made him decide to agree with it.

Bill Murray stated, "You know, they were incredibly nice to ask me, and I really enjoyed being there," Murray also said, "They have such a jolly group, and they are going to have great success with this project. I didn't want to overshadow (them) or anything, and I feel really good about it."

But, Murray said it before that has no interest in returning to the franchise, however, the Golden Globe and a BAFTA best actor Bill Murray said that he was encouraged to be part of the sequel due the film's cast like Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy.

Murray said about the actresses, "I like those girls a lot," then he added, "I mean, I really do. They are tough to say no to. And Paul is a real nice fellow."

Murray said, "I thought about it for a very long time," the actor also said, "Like, many, many months. No, that's not right. I was seriously thinking about this for years, really ... It kept eating at me, and I really respect those girls. And then I started to feel like if I didn't do this movie, maybe somebody would write a bad review or something, thinking there was some sort of disapproval (on my part)."

The lead cast of the new Ghostbusters - Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, Chris Hemsworth, and Neil Casey.

The upcoming reboot of the Ghostbusters is slated to hit theaters on July 15, 2016.
