According to Entertainment Weekly, Ryan Murphy said:

"I've been talking to her. It's always possible. I'm trying to deal with her play schedule. Jessica is always about the character. She'll be back - she's not gone forever. But that's the fun and fresh thing about the show: sometimes somebody has to go away before you realize how much you miss them. She wants to come back we just have to come up with something."

Jessica Lange, who won two Emmy awards and one Golden Globe for her roles on "American Horror Story" first announced that she'll be leaving the series in March, at PaleyFest.

"Yes, I'm done. We've had a great run here. I mean, I absolutely love doing these four characters, and in all madness, I love the writers and Ryan and the insanity of shooting it," said Jessica Lange on her departure.

Jessica Lange is just one of the few cast members that have appeared on all four previous seasons of "American Horror Story."

Choosing to go back to her Broadway roots, Jessica Lange bowed out of "American Horror Story: Hotel" to star in the adaptation of "Long Day's Journey Into Night."

During the "American Horror Story: Hotel" panel over at the Summer TCA, Ryan Murphy explained Jessica Lange's decision to leave the show: "[Jessica] decided she wanted a year off to do a play, which I bought for her stupidly."

The spring 2016 revival "Long Day's Journey Into Night" is also produced by "AHS" co-creator Ryan Murphy.

It is still unknown if Jessica Lange will do a cameo for "American Horror Story: Hotel" as Constance, given that the first season's Murder House will be returning to the show for one episode as well.
