'The Vampire Diaries' Spoilers: Season 7 Will Focus On Brotherly Love

After the tear jerking finale of the sixth season of the hit series 'The Vampire Diaries', fans are now making their own guesses about the possible new storyline for the upcoming seventh season which will be aired on October 8.

Now that Nina Dobrev who played the role of Elena Gilbert is gone which is shown in the last episode of the last season, fans are now expecting major changes in the flow of the story. Caroline Dries, the executive producer of the long running television series spoke about the interesting changes which include the closer relationship of the Salvatore brothers.

Reports reveal that the next episode will focus on brotherly love following the discovery of Damon and Stefan's mother. Without Elena in between, Damon will come to comfort and rescue Damon who becomes violent and alcoholic. The executive producer that there will be more bromance between the Salvatore brothers and between Alaric and Damon who are both struggling.

Alaric played by Matthew Davis will also return to being alcoholic and unconventional after Elena's death and the loss of his unborn child with Jo. To cope up, he will resort to contacting the dead but will soon find his way back as the season proceeds.

Since it seems impossible to bring back the character of Nina Dobrev who is now enjoying her life in the real world with her new found love, the production team is struggling to replace the love triangle between Damon and Stefan. Dries stated that there will be a different kind of love story in the upcoming season.

Their mother Lily will try to make her sons turn against each other while claiming she both love them just like Katherine. But the brothers will side each other no matter what.

New characters will also be coming in the seventh season like Jaiden Kaine, Todd Lasance, Tim Kang, and Justin Leak. Brand new enemies to fight will be coming including the fearless Malcolm which will be played by Leak and the vampire lesbian couple who will bring trouble in Mystic Falls.
