'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7 Spoilers: Damon Salvatore Loses Control, Tyler Lockwood Missing?

The finale episode for 'The Vampire Diaries' season 6 showed a few hints at what the upcoming 7th season will bring, including the fates of Ian Somerhalder's 'Damon' and Zach Roerig's 'Matt Donovan'. Among the many spoilers for the new season includes Tyler Lockwood going missing and Damon loses control by drinking and going to parties.

The show's executive producer, Caroline Dries, has recently talked about a few hints in season 7 and said that as Elena Gilbert locks herself in the coffin, her boyfriend Damon is fighting his grief by attending wild parties and becoming the old 'alcoholic' Damon.

While everyone seems trying to run from their grief, Elena's best friend Bonnie obliges herself to look after her best friend's men Damon and Alaric, who are both drowning in sorrow.

The spoilers added that Bonnie's character will help Damon get through it by reminding him that Elena would never want to see him destroying his life.

"He is drinking and having a wild time, but he is wildly affected by the loss of Elena. He's never going to not be about Elena, so this chapter is life after Elena. He's trying to struggle with, how do I do right by Elena and still be myself?" Plec said.

As for Tyler Lockwood's character, played by Michael Trevino, TVD executive producer Julie Plec hinted that the seventh season will reveal a lead as to where he went after the events at Mystic Falls.

She also added that there will be a lot of surprises in store for Caroline Forbes' character playbed by Candice Accola, while Stefan's character played by Paul Wesley, does his best to help all of his friends get through it. Following the unleashed Heretics in Mystic Falls, Stefan would come up with a plan to defeat them.

Matt Lockwood's character is hinted to be the one who would 'protect and serve' the humans of Mystic Falls from its enemies. Stefan would also be helping Matt defeat the Heretics.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 premieres Thursday, October 8.
