The movie Straight Outta Compton was about the famous rap group known as the N.W.A. and its release automatically to hit the top of the box office. Seattle Pi reported that the movie already made $56.1 million based on Box Office Mojo's calculation. It even beat Mission Impossible: Rouge Nation as it used to be on the number one spot because it only made $17 million after the third weekend.
The third movie that hit the 3rd spot was The Man From U.N.C.L.E. that also came out this weekend making $13.5 million. For fans of Fantastic Four, although it was nicely produced people have expected a lot from it, the movie only made a sad amount of $8 million and it has already been the second week since it was released. It was amazing that it also made the fourth spot and The Gift, which made $6.5 million, followed it.
Forbes also reported the astounding money that Straight Outta Compton has made in just ten days, which is $42 million to be exact. They also think that Fantastic Four would only make a total of less than $60 million because a lot of people are choosing to go for N.W.A. biopic. It is somewhat disappointing to see a superhero movie based on a famous comic book just drop like that although it wasn't surprising that Straight Outta Compton becomes a huge hit. Its total amount for a debut went up to $60 million that it became 7th biggest R-rated debut and 4th largest August debut of all time.
This means that is of the same level when Ant-man and Mission Impossible: Rogue Mission made their debut weekend. Although just to be clear, it even outnumbered those two movies by a mile when it comes to the money they made. Straight Outta Compton is still showing in a theater near you.
