Public Bashes Halle Berry Over Aubry/Martinez Fight, Think Actress is a Liar, 'Vindictive,' Needs Dr. Phil, Was it Really a Setup?

The police may believe Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez that Gabriel Aubry is the one to blame for the recent fight, but the public is not convinced.

According to FOX News, Aubry suffered tow black eyes after an intense fight with French actor Martinez, Berry's fiancé, as he dropped off his daughter Nahla and her Beverly Hills home on Thanksgiving Day.

Los Angeles police booked Aubry on suspicion of misdemeanor battery with connection with the fight, however, Aubry said that he was the victim "of an unprovoked physical attack by Martinez, which he contends was not witnessed in a declaration filed in Los Angeles Superior Court in an unsuccessful attempt to have a judge lift a restraining order that Berry has against him," Los Angeles Times said.

Berry and the babysitter said that they witnessed Aubry initiate the fight by pushing and shoving Martinez and that he is seeking his own protective order against Martinez, who Aubry claimed threatened to kill him.

The public seems to agree that Aubry was the victim and was actually set up. Under the LA Times article, commenters were furious that the police are blaming Aubry for the fight and that Berry is a liar.

"Yes, and the babysitter employed by the Berry creature is going to say what the person paying her wages wants her to say. Berry has cameras all over her residence but yet not one captured the 'fight', that Gabriel Aubry was setup is obvious. LAPD has always sided with Berry, she's gotten off with hit and run accidents with nothing more than a slap on the wrist in the past. She must have been beside herself when that judge told her she couldn't do what she wanted to do. Martinez hasn't many years left anyway, Berry always moves on after 5 years and she burns her bridges. That's why she wants rid of her daughters father so bad," one commenter wrote in a lengthy letter bashing Berry.

Another said, "Halle Berry has had drama with EVERY relationship she's been in. ALL of them. Seems to me SHE is the problem here." One more said, "sounds like a setup to me... now she will get everything she wants..."

Basically all the comments sound like those above, bashing Berry and Martinez for putting Aubry in trouble if he is the actual victim here. The comments go on and on even at TMZ.com.

"I don't know of one single person that supports Halle Berry or Oliver in this. It's clear Gabriel was set up. The court just ruled Halle couldn't take her daughter to France to live and she has clearly decided to dirty Aubrey up in order to take her to Paris anyway. She's intending to prove to the court that Gabriel isn't a fit father hence no visitation is appropriate. What a vile b----. I won't want any more movies with her in them."

"He looks terrible... and he was still booked for battery? Something is very fishy in here..."

"This story sounds like a set-up. Gabe comes over to drop off his daughter, then gets the crap beat out of him by a boxer in training and HE ends up in jail. Don't you just love the California Courts? This is just a revenge move on Halle's part, and the truth will come out and Gabe will be vindicated."

"They set him up to be angry and fight and he fell for it so Halle can have a reason to leave to France. She is a vindictive thing. She knows how a pick a man. Where is her dr. Phil intervention?

One commenter on LA Times' website said the public shouldn't be interfering in business that isn't theirs to begin with.

"Its funny to me that everyone (including me) must be out their minds, to comment on a problem that they have nothing to do with," a commenter said. Another one agreed saying, "Patrick you have made the most intelligent statement on here."

Then one comment defended the reason why the public states their opinion in the comment section under articles:

"You can say that about all the stories that come through here. The fact is that this is a major problem for these people and many out there in the world today. People can be helped by the opinions of others. Maybe even helping someone not kill somebody in the future. Thats why we comment. Because it may help someone to listen to reason."
