'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting: E.L. James May Consider Top Contenders Matt Bomer, Henry Cavill, Ian Somerhalder

E.L. James is finally acknowledging the fans' obsession with casting Christian Grey with a simple interaction on Twitter.

The "Fifty Shades" trilogy author tweeted a question to her followers, "So... who do you want to play Christian Grey in the movie?"

It got retweeted 1,547 times and fans instantly responded with their picks, mostly those actors whose names are already attached to the highly coveted role.

"@E_L_James :Only one man has the perfect look, voice, demeanor, and sexy level to play Christian...MATT BOMER! #Gorgeous #Perfection," one fan wrote. Another fan said, "@E_L_James We are convinced that William Levy@willylevy29 is the best choice to play Christian Grey!!" one more wrote, "@E_L_James I like Matt Bomer or Ian Somerhalder but I trust you and team50 will make the right choice."

We hope they do for the fans sake too, or else they might just find where the directors live and start striking.

"Superman" actor Henry Cavill was also mentioned, but we know these four are not the only fan-favorites to play the 27-year-old sexy billionaire Christian Grey.

It seems that from fans' reactions to the upcoming "Fifty Shades of Grey" role that Christian should be an A-list actor, one that everybody knows about, not an unknown. What does the question mean to fans though? Will fans' opinions weight on the casting of Christian Grey, or is James just hyping up the situation? Other actors have caught on to the Christian Grey hype.

Recently, Cavill, 29, spoke about the rumors of him playing Christian in an interview with Details.com.

"Whether that happens, that decision will be made at the time it has to be made," he said with the measured tones of someone who knows his way around a Hollywood gag order, Details.com wrote. "It would be a very different kind of thing than 'Man of Steel.'"

"Twilight" actor Robert Pattinson, a huge fan-favorite, also recently spoke about playing Christian.

Pattinson recently did an interview with MSN and was asked if he would consider playing a role in the highly anticipated film adaption based on E.L. James' popular naughty books.

"I am playing that part," he said like he was giving a serious answer. He added, "I also wrote the book." Then he laughed.
