Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, who left school at the age of 16 to pursue his career in music, will be receiving an honorary's degree from the University Campus Suffolk for his "outstanding contribution to music", according to reports.
Ed Sheeran will be honored in a ceremony to be held at the University Campus Suffolk that would probably take place later this year, probably in the autumn season.
The 24-year old 'Thinking Out Loud' musician is one of the people to be awarded with an honorary's degree and he will be joining 1,800 graduates from the class of 2015.
Ed Sheeran is obviously living out his dreams and even though he did not formally finish school, he will still be awarded with a diploma for all his hard work and achievements in the music industry.
The ginger-haired singer has just recently finished a three sold-out shows at the Wembley Stadium, which happens to be the last part of his massive world tour.
"I've had an amazing year with my world tour and this makes it even better," Sheeran said in a statement after he heard the news about him being selected as one of the honorary's degree awardees.
He went on saying, "Suffolk is very much where I call home and I'm always welcomed back and get so much support."
Latest reports claim that after finishing his record-breaking gig at the Wembley, Ed Sheeran added new chest ink to celebrate in July. He has a total of 25 tattoos which included a lizard, a snowflake, the head of the Lego man, a teddy bear and his newest one, a lion.
He will be hitting another tour in Australia in November through December this year. Ed Sheeran's current net worth is at $35 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
