Coldplay Band Looking at Options to Save UK Kids Charity

The British rock band formed in 1996 by lead vocalist Chris Martin and lead guitarist Jonny Buckland at University College London Coldplay, is "looking at options" to save a facility run by the defunct Kids Company charity, the Treehouse. The north London facility provided education and therapeutic help for vulnerable children.

An estimated of £10m previously donated to the charity by the frontman of the Coldplay, Chris Martin. Unfortunately, the facility closed down last week, claimed to have a financial mismanagement and sexual abuse.

As the singer of Coldplay, Chris Martin and his estranged wife Gwyneth Paltrow have been supporters of Kids Company, the Coldplay band is now in talks to help the center to stay open.

And ensuring these vulnerable children does not fall through their future Government ministers, councils and other charities are now in some kind of a negotiation to draw up a plan to continue the services of the facility.

Phil Harvey,Coldplay's co-manager stated, "We're incredibly proud of Treehouse's work with children in great need over the past six years," Phil Harvey also said, "It's very early stages, but we're not going to give up on the centre without looking at all options for the future."

In 2009, the Treehouse opened with its website describes its services as "providing practical and emotional support for exceptionally vulnerable children, their families and young people."

The Metropolitan Police Service or widely known informally as "the Met", the territorial police force responsible for law enforcement in Greater London, is investigating the Kids Company for Exploitation and Child Abuse. However, Camilla Batmanghelidjh who founded the charity, said that she would have told police of any allegation if she knew anything about it.

The Treehouse facility has been relying on individual donations and received millions of pounds of government funding, but due to a lack of funding it closed, however, the founder Camilla Batmanghelidjh said that there was a "malicious discrediting campaign" against the charity.
