Google Maps Updated Version Features 'Night Mode'

Google has issued an update of the Google Maps for iOS which includes a Night Mode feature. The 4.9.0 version is now available for download in the App Store.

The new Night Mode added in the new version serves as a solution to the frequently faced problem of Google Maps users. The app which has a blinding white interface makes it difficult for drivers to refocus on the road after looking at the screen. The brightness of the screen could cause temporary vision loss, which poses greater trouble for motorists.

The Night Mode of the Google Maps allows users to navigate route with an ease during dark hours. Base on several tests, the mode will not simply work in dark places.  Drivers will no longer be bothered by the bright white display of the app.

The feature only works during night time and in the turn-by-turn navigation mode. Without any requirement, users can take advantage of the new additional feature since it is already built-in.

The new version also enables users to label places that are present on the map and in the search suggestions. An edit option is present for the captions of photos that are already posted along with bug fixes.

Earlier, the tech company released a new feature for the Google Maps that permits sending directions of any location to the devices of Apple from desktop computers by first enabling the notifications on the mobile devices.

Last month, Google also introduced a new feature called 'Your Timeline' that can be found in the app in Web interface of Google Maps. It offers a more simple view of the location history of users which can be edited or deleted.

Though the new added feature is only minimal, it can be of great help to the users by. With the Night Mode, driving at night will become safer.
