Ed Sheeran replaces Justin Bieber at 2015 Fusion Festival

Two days after Justin Bieber pulled out of the festival in Cofton Park, organizers announced the news that Ed Sheeran is going to replace the Canadian singer and songwriter as a main act at the 2015 Fusion Festival in Birmingham.

It has been said that the English singer-songwriter and musician Ed Sheeran, personally contacted the organizers of the festival and offered to step in at the last minute.

On August 28, the Thinking Out Loud singer, Ed Sheeran will play a full 90 minute set on the first day of the three day festival.

Even though Justin Bieber has been nominated for an MTV VMA in the US on August 30, the popstar said that because of "unforeseen circumstances" he could no longer perform at the festival.

The Beliebers or the Justin Bieber's die hard fans have been demanding refunds.

  • The 2015 Fusion Festival event director, Damien Sanders stated, "This is incredible news, when Ed heard that Justin Bieber had pulled out he contacted us and offered to step in at the last minute, this is an amazing gesture from an all-round great guy and Ed really has saved the day, we are all eternally grateful." Damien Sanders also said, "We look forward to a spectacular show and are delighted to have secured one of the biggest acts in the world."

Ed Sheeran said, "I'm delighted to be playing Fusion Festival after stepping in at the last minute to help out the guys at Fusion and support The Prince's Trust." Ed Sheeran also said, "Birmingham crowds are always lively, so I can't wait to come back. See you in a few weeks!"

The other headline acts on the line up for the 2015 Fusion Festival are Rudimental who will play on the Saturday and McBusted - who will play on the Sunday. The festival runs from August 28-30.

When the Wireless Festival announced that they wouldn't be returning this year, the Fusion Festival is now the biggest pop music festival in Birmingham.
