Shakespeare and Company

Open in Paris in 1951, Paris Left Bank looks more of like a library from a Hemingway book which later on closed store but reopened in 1958, which the owner [Sylvia Beach] then renamed it to "Shakespeare and Company" as the years passed after its opening the bookstore have housed writers, up to four scribes can spend a night and some even stayed for a month.

"My father always aspired to continue the same spirit Sylvia Beach created in her bookstore -- welcoming and hosting writers and sharing books through our reading room," daughter of founder George Whitman Sylvia Whitman then told CNN

Boekhandel Dominicanen

This 1,100-Square-meter former Dominican Church that was built in the 13th century was turned into a bookstore last 2006, though before it became a bookstore, it already went through a lot of functions as it used to hosts children's carnivals and slaughtering sheep.

The bookstore stocks more than 40,000 books in French, English, Spanish and Italian , the bookstore hosts more or less 140 events per year.
