"It's mega. It's Dr. Dre, it's what everybody's been waiting for. It's definitely a dope record, and he's dropping it all on the same day," Ice Cube said in the interview.

Fans have long been awaiting the release for Dr. Dre's album, "Detox," which ended up being cancelled. While on Beats 1 radio show "The Pharmacy" with Ice Cube, Dr. Dre explained the reason behind the cancellation of the album.

"I didn't like it. It wasn't good. The record, it just wasn't good. [...] I worked my ass off on it, and I don't think I did a good enough job," Dr. Dre admitted.

Dre is also joined by a long list of notable musicians on the new album. Fans can expect to hear King Mez, Justus, Compton-born rapper Kendrick Lamar, Marsha Ambrosius, Candice Pillay, BJ The Chicago Kid, Anderson Paak, Xzibit, COLD 187um, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Asia Bryant, Jill Scott, and Jon Connor on "Compton: A Soundtrack By Dr. Dre."

Dr. Dre's new album will drop exclusively on Apple Music beginning August 7. The album can also be pre-ordered via iTunes as soon as today.
