Sean Penn Charlize Theron Meet Up After Breakup, ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Actress Adopts Baby Girl

After having been in a relationship that went very serious very fast for about a year, Sean Penn and Charlize Theron recently called it quits after being engaged for months, but they've been recently spotted together for the first time since the rumors first began, all while news of the actress adopting a baby girl hit mainstream media.

Earlier this summer, it was reported that Sean Penn and Charlize Theron had called off their engagement during the Cannes Film Festival, and it was reported that the "Mad Max: Fury Road" simply stopped responding to Penn's texts; but these days, it's time for awkward meetings as they see each other for work.

According to Yahoo! Celebrity, Sean Penn and Charlize Theron were recently spotted together in Cape Town, South Africa, as they reshot a few scenes for their upcoming film "The Last Face," where Penn actually directs his former love.

The Daily Mail reports that a few days after Sean Penn and Charlize Theron's reshoot photos leaked online, the actress was seen arriving back home to Los Angeles, looking "somber" as she reached home and paparazzi followed her around LAX airport hoping to get snaps or information about her recent meet-up with Penn.

Well beyond the Sean Penn and Charlize Theron drama, the actress has decidedly moved on to a new stage in her life, becoming a mom for the second time, according to Us Weekly: in late July, the 39 year-old star (who's days away from her 40th birthday) adopted a child, an African-American baby girl born in the United States, whom she's called August.

This is her second child after her 4 year-old boy Jackson, whom she adopted in her native country, South Africa, back in 2012.

Before Sean Penn and Charlize Theron split, it had been reported that Penn had filed to adopt Jackson as well, though it's unclear whether that legal process has halted.
