The latest 'Black Mass' trailer gives another look at Johnny Depp as infamous Boston gangster James 'Whitey' Bulger, but this time, it’s from a new angle.

While the previous preview focused on Depp’s chilling character, fans now get more of Bulger’s backstory and how he built his criminal empire.

The film, spanning the 1970s through the 2010s, examines Bulger’s almost unbelievable career, from a small time thug who became an FBI informant, then to criminal overlord ruling the Boston underworld with an iron fist, and finally to a wanted fugitive who evaded capture for nearly 20 years.

Bulger’s rise and fall, as portrayed in Black Mass, will be eventful, not to mention violent. Through his wheeling and dealing, as well as his ruthlessness, it’s evident that Bulger’s notoriety was deserved.

The first trailer for the film debuted in April, and it shows Johnny nailing the role of Whitey.

The poster for the film was released on July 29, and Johnny looks seriously ready to kill.

The poster shows the actor with his arms crossed standing in front of the Boston skyline, giving a fierce and murderous stare deep into everyone's souls.

Johnny Depp looks almost identical to Whitey, sporting thinning grey hair and freckled skin. While he wears sunglasses in the poster, Johnny wears ice blue contacts in the film to resemble the convicted murderer even more.

The real Whitey, now 85 years old, is currently serving two life terms plus five years in Florida.
