Microsoft has launched the beta testing phase of its new app Arrow Launcher for Android phones. The beta version is only available through an invite system on Google which can be downloaded on OneDrive. Members of a private Google+ community are the only ones who can obtain the private beta.
The new app is a three-page home page with a row devoted to showing the apps that are recently and frequently used by the owner. The default three-page setting is not open for modification. The user will not be able to add or remove anything on the pages.
The new Arrow Launcher includes a 'Notes & Reminders' page that shows up when users swipe the screen to the right. It features a to-do checklist which allows users to create reminders or a list of things to accomplish. Users can check the box on the side once a certain task is completed.
Microsoft has also created a new pair of replacement lock screens for Android devices. The tech company also built a keyboard for Excel including a voice search tool powered by Bing which is dedicated for Android Wear devices.

Garage has created the only Android system utility which is totally different from the Arrow Launcher. Microsoft is one of the companies trying to customize Android launchers.
Yahoo has also acquired the launcher Aviate last year. Unlike the app of Yahoo, the Arrow does not integrate a Bing search bar.
Since the Arrow Launcher is still in beta phase, many are looking forward to Microsoft adding more features which will make the app look better and more attractive than it already is. Addition of apps and services like Office and OneNote is also possible.
